ElNemr wins twice on Saturday to lead Women's Tennis

Sophomore Jannah ElNemr won two tie-breaker matches in the No. 3 singles group on Saturday and claimed fifth place to highlight team play in the Creighton Bluejay Invite in Omaha, Neb.
ElNemr won 4-6, 7-5 (10-5) and 2-6, 6-0 (10-5).
In the No. 6 group, Tommie freshman Abigail Bremel won two matches to take fifth place, and sophomore Ashley Hatch went 1-1 to place seventh.
St. Thomas won two of three doubles matches played against Augustana. Olivia Paradise and Madeline Bremel won 7-6 at No. 1; Nicole Snezhko and Brooke Hapuku won 7-6 at No. 2; and ElNemr and Regina Talavera lost 6-3 at No. 3.

Tommie Women's Tennis opened its 2021-22 season with the two-day Creighton Bluejay Invite on Friday with singles and doubles play against several Midwest universities.
In doubles play, the Toms lost 3-1 to Omaha. Olivia Paradise and freshman Madeline Bremel won at No. 2 by a 7-5 score. Sophomores Nicole Snezhko and Jannah ElNemr lost 6-3 at No. 1; Brooke Hapuku and freshman Regina Talavera lost 6-1 at No. 3; Ashley Hatch and freshman Abigail Bremel dropped a 6-1 score at No. 4.
In singles brackets, at No. 1 Snezhko fell 6-2, 6-1 in her opening match;at No. 2 Paradise lost 4-6, 7-5 (2); at No. 3 ElNemr lost 7-5, 6-3; at No. 4, Madeline Bremel lost 7-5, 6-0, and Talavera lost 6-3, 6-2; at No. 5, Hapuku dropped a 6-1, 6-2 decision; and at No. 6 Hatch lost 6-0, 6-4.
The tournament continues Saturday and is the first of two this fall for St. Thomas.
