Freshmen spark Swim-Dive at USD's Coyote meet

Freshman Alex Foti won the 1650 free and freshman Elizabeth Bonneville had her third and fourth top-five individual finishes of the weekend to lead Tommie Swim-Dive on Saturday. It was the final day of the South Dakota Coyote Extravaganza in Vermillion, S.D.
Host South Dakota, Northern Iowa, St. Cloud State and Sioux Falls joined the Tommies in the competition.

St. Thomas Swim-Dive had eight top-five individual placings on day one of the five-team South Dakota Coyote Extravaganza in Vermillion, S.D.
For the men, freshman Alex Foti won the 500 free and took second in the 1000 free. Will Goldman took third in the 100 breaststroke. Luke Ridler placed fourth in the 400 IM. Freshman Michael Scripp was fifth in the 100 Fly.
On the women's side, freshman Elizabeth Bonneville won the 200 free and 500 free. Anna Astrup placed fifth in the 100 fly.

Leading the St. Thomas women's performances were:
- Bonneville, who took third in the 50 free and fifth in the 200 back;
- Allison An, who finished fourth on the one-meter diving board;
- Anna Astrup, who placed sixth in the 200 Fly;
- Taylor Rau, who placed fifth in the 200 breaststroke;
- The 200 medley relay team of Sophie Curran, Grace Urkiel, Astrup and Bonneville.
- Joe Rudd, third in the 200 breaststroke;
- Andrew Godfrey, fourth in three-meter diving;
- Michael Scripp, fifth in the 200 fly;
- Andrew Akermann, sixth in the 200 fly and sixth in the 200 free;
- The 400 free relay team of Garrett Riley, Foti, Luke Ridler and Evan Schroeder.
