Women's Hockey falls 7-1 to top-ranked Badgers

Unbeaten and No. 1-ranked Wisconsin Women's Hockey scored four times in a 9:51 span of the second period to break open the game en route to a 7-1 victory over St. Thomas in Saturday afternoon's WCHA game in Mendota Heights.
Freshman Maddie Jurgensen scored her first collegiate goal for the Tommies (4-8-1 overall, 2-8-1 WCHA). Alex Dobchuk stopped 33 of 40 shits in goal. St. Thomas fell to 0-7 against top-eight ranked teams.
The Badgers (14-0-1, 10-0-1) helped limit the host team to 13 shots on net. Maddi Wheeler scored two goals, and nine players had at least one point for Wisconsin.
The teams play again Sunday at 2 p.m.on the Toms' home ice to close out the weekend series.
