Softball finishes 2-3 in Arizona

St. Thomas Softball took a loss and had a cancellation in Sunday's final day at the NFCA Leadoff Classic in Tucson, Ariz.
The Toms lost 13-4 in five innings to Transylvania. The final game with Piedmont was cancelled along with a group of other games due to weather concers.
The Purple went 2-3 in the tournament and dropped to 3-4 on the season.
One highlight on Sunday was a pinch-hit two-run homer by Tommie sophomore Nicole Pieper, her first collegiate home run.

No. 14-ranked St. Thomas Softball lost two Saturday evening games in Tucson, Ariz., at the NFCA Leadoff Classic.
The Tommies lost 7-4 to St. John Fisher, and lost 10-2 in five innings to Emory.
Kierstin Anderson-Glass and Hayley Dunning allowed only three earned runs with four unearned aganst SJF. The Toms scored all four runs in the final at-bat after falling beind 7-0.
The Purple, who took two comeback wins Friday in Tucson, bring a 3-3 record into two Sunday games with Transylvania and Piedmont to close the trip.
