Women's Hockey falls 3-2 at St. Benedict

Tommie Women's Hockey surrendered a power-play goal in the final 90 seconds to snap a 2-2 tie and lost 3-2 Saturday to St. Benedict in MIAC play in St. Cloud.
St. Thomas (12-5-3 overall, 11-3 MIAC) split the weekend series, both one-goal margins, and dropped into third place in the league standings with four games left in the regular season. They outshot CS 30-24.
St. Ben's led 1-0 in the second period before the Purple's Rachel Werdin and Anna Erickson scored the tying and go-ahead goals.
The Bennies tied the game midway through period three, then drew a penalty with under 3:00 left in regulation time. St. Benedict converted what proved to be the winning goal with 1:28 left on the clock.
St. Thomas plays No. 5-ranked Hamline in two games next weekend.
