Darge's record 3-point night sends Women's Hoops to win

1/8/2020 12:00:00 AM | Women's Basketball

Sophomore Amber Darge set a school record with eight made 3-pointers in a 26-point performance to lead No. 22-ranked St. Thomas Women's Basketball to Wednesday night's 77-55 MIAC road win at St. Olaf.

Coach Ruth Sinn's Tommies sank a program-record 17 treys (17-of-39). That broke the old record of 16 set in 2015-16 against Carleton and tied last winter in the NCAA playoffs with 16 in an Elite Eight round victory against Wartburg.

Junior Macy Hatlestad finished with six made 3-pointers in a 21-point, six-rebound, five-assist game. Brynne Rolland added 10 points and six boards for the Purple (9-3 overall, 5-2 MIAC).

Darge's eight 3-pointers made in 13 attempts broke the school individual record of seven made by Lauren Fischer in a 2017 home NCAA playoff win over UW-Superior.

St. Thomas plays Saturday at home against St. Ben's.
