Comeback falls short, Men's Hockey drops 3-2 decision

St. Thomas Men's Hockey saw its comeback fall short Friday on home ice in a 3-2 loss to Gustavus. The teams close the weekend series Saturday night with a rematch in St. Peter.
The Tommies (8-7-2 overall, 5-4 MIAC) went 0-for-3 on its power play, including one GAC denied in the game's final 2:05.
Tyler Ebner scored two goals as the Gusties (8-6-2, 4-2-1) jumped to a 3-0 lead late in period two.
Johnny Panvica scored in the final 90 seconds of the second frame to cut the margin to two. John Peterson scored early in period three to trim the lead to 3-2, but St. Thomas was unable to get the tying score over the final 17:16 on the clock.
Cam Burggrabe had 30 saves for the Tommies.
