Volleyball goes 2-2 in Eau Claire tourney

No. 18-ranked St. Thomas Volleyball scored a pair of 3-0 wins Saturday over Lakeland and Linfield in the UW-Eau Claire tournament. The Tommies (10-2) held off Lakeland 26-24, 25-23, 25-15, and topped Linfield 25-14, 25-13, 25-16.

Madie Kroehler had 10 kills and nine digs in the Lakeland win.

The Toms open MIAC play Wednesday night at one-loss St. Olaf (11-1).

Friday's story

No. 18-ranked St. Thomas lost both matches Friday night by 3-0 margins in the UW-Eau Claire tournament. The Tommies fell 25-22, 25-21, 25-21 to Carthage, and lost 25-20, 25-18, 25-17 to No. 9-ranked Eau Claire.

The Toms (8-2) play Lakeland and Linfield on Saturday afternoon to close the trip.
