Women's Hockey gets OT tie in series opener with Point

Despite putting 52 shots on goal, Tommie Women's Hockey came away with a 2-2 overtime tie with visiting UW-Stevens Point in non-conference play Friday night at Saint Thomas Ice Arena in Mendota Heights.
The teams play again Saturday (2 p.m.) at the STA rink.
In its 2019-20 home opener, St. Thomas (0-1-1) never trailed and outshot the Pointers 52-23. Eryn Cooley stopped 21 shots, and five Toms recorded a point led by goals from Estee Frantz early in the second frame and Maddy Fiedler in the third period.
The Pointers (3-0-1) got the tying goal with under 6:00 left in regulation time.
