Tough OT loss for Women's Hockey to close trip

Host Lake Forest converted a short-handed breakaway goal in sudden-death overtime to take a 2-1 victory over No. 10-ranked Tommie Women's Hockey Saturday in non-conference play in Lake Forest, Ill.
Maija Almich scored her first collegiate goal, late in the second period, to give St. Thomas a 1-0 lead. Lake Forest tied the contest with a goal with just under 5:00 left in regulation time.
Eryn Cooley had 33 saves for St. Thomas (5-2-3), which had an eight-game unbeaten streak halted. The Toms have allowed just 11 goals in regulation time in 10 games.
The Toms resume MIAC play next Friday and Saturday with a home series against Concordia-Moorhead.
