Tommie Volleyball had a roller-coaster night at St. Bens Thursday before falling 3-2 to the Bennies in the MIAC Playoff semifinals. Second-seed St. Ben's won 22-25, 25-16, 23-25, 25-13, 15-13.

Top-seed Gustavus also rallied to take the fourth and fifth sets at home and the Augsburg in the other semifinal.

The third-seeded Toms had a win streak end at nine. They fell behind 7-2 and 12-6 in the decisive fifth set before a late charge fell short.

Katharine Mallak posted 58 assists and surpassed 3,000 on her career. Madie Kroehler had 14 kills and 23 digs. Julia Spacek had 19 kills, and Audrey Erickson added 12 kills. Ellie Meyer had 28 digs, Abby Louwagie had 20 digs and Meghan Mazzola posted 15 digs.

Coach Thanh Pham's team (25-8) will await Monday's NCAA bracket announcement to see if it lands an at-large spot in the national field. UST is ranked fourth in the region rankings, the third MIAC team.
