Senior Grace Bordson hit .435 with 12 kills and six blocks and Tommie Volleyball continued its late-season surge Tuesday night in Schoenecker Arena with a hard-fought 3-0 win over sixth-seed St. Olaf to open the MIAC playoffs.

The third-seeded Toms pushed their win streak to nine with a 25-21, 26-24, 25-21 victory.

Coach Thanh Pham's team (25-7) has won 17 of its last 19 contests. They will face second-seed St. Benedict Thursday night on the road in St. Joseph in the semifinals, a chance to avenge one of its two losses to MIAC teams this season.

The Toms have won 24 or more matches 14 of the 16 seasons under Pham.

Katharine Mallak added 37 assists. Audrey Erickson and Julia Spacek combined for 17 kills and 10 blocks. Madie Kroehler had eight kills and 5 digs. Meghan Mazzola had 12 digs and Ellie Meyer had 11 digs.

St. Thomas Volleyball, Soccer, Football and Hockey teams are on an 18-game unbeaten streak (17-0-1) since Women's Soccer lost 1-0 on Oct. 20 at St. Olaf.
