9/8/2017 12:00:00 AM | Men's Soccer
No. 3-ranked Tommie Men's Soccer fell 2-0 Friday night at Capital in Columbus, Ohio, its first defeat of the young season. The Crusaders (2-1) scored in the 25th minute on a rebound shot and again in the 75th minute, and its defense overcame a lot of Tommie pressure.
St. Thomas (3-1), playing its first road game, had a 12-2 advantage in corner kicks and a 15-5 edge in shots but couldn't get its scoring untracked.
St. Thomas had a pair of 0-0 ties last season but this was just the second shutout loss it took in its last 28 games.
UST will have a quick turnaround as it plays Ohio Wwesleyan Saturday night.
