Volleyball stays sharp with 3-0 win at St. Olaf

Julia Spacek had 10 kills and two blocks to lead No. 17-ranked Tommie Volleyball to Wednesday night's 3-0 road victory at St. Olaf. The Tommies won 25-22, 25-17, 25-21.
The Tommies (14-2 overall, 4-0 MIAC) have won five in a row and 14 of their last 15 matches. They gained sole possession of the conference lead as the Oles (12-6, 3-1) took their first MIAC defeat.
Ellie Etzell had nine kills; Whitney Lloyd had seven kills; Madie Kroehler chipped in 11 digs; Ellie Meyer had 10 digs and two aces; Hannah Schwartz had 18 assists and two aces; and Katharine Mallak added 20 assists.
St. Thomas plays twice Saturday -- at home against Macalester (3 p.m.), and at Northwestern-St. Paul (7 p.m.).
