Volleyball goes 1-1 on Saturday

No. 17-ranked St. Thomas Volleyball (15-3 overall, 5-0 MIAC) went 1-1 on Saturday, winning 3-0 at home against Macalester in the afternoon, and losing 3-0 to No. 8-ranked Northwestern-St. Paul on the road in the evening.
The Eagles (19-3) hit .293 and won 25-13, 25-21, 25-14 to avenge a 3-0 loss to the Tommies earlier in the month. Madie Kroehler had seven kills and 14 digs to lead UST, and Whitney Lloyd added six kills and two blocks.
St. Thomas moved to 5-0 atop the MIAC standings with its defeat of the Scots. UST used 14 different players. Grace Duffy had eight kills and Grace Bordson added seven.
The Tommies play Wednesday night at UW-Eau Claire, and compete Oct. 6-7 in the UW-Oshkosh tournament.
