MOORHEAD, Minn. – The St. Thomas men's soccer team kept its unbeaten season rolling on Tuesday afternoon, defeating Concordia 2-0 on the road.

The Tommies scored in the final minute of the first half and added another goal midway through the second to improve to 8-0-2 on the year and 3-0-1 in the MIAC.  With the loss, the Cobbers drop to 3-5-1 overall and 0-4-0 in league play.

St. Thomas got out to a 7-0 advantage in shots, but could not find the back of the net in two chances on goal through the first 44 minutes of the first half.

The Tommies connected in the final minute before halftime, however, when senior defender Johnny Mulvahill scored his first goal of the season.  Senior Mark Heydt sent a corner kick into the box, where Mulvahill finished it off with a header into the left side of the goal.

The goal came at the just 22 seconds before halftime and gave the Tommies a 1-0 lead heading into the break.  In the first half, St. Thomas outshot Concordia 8-0 and went to the second half looking for an insurance goal.

The Tommies got the goal they were looking for midway through the second.  Junior Tyler Oliver got behind the Cobber defense after a lead pass from Shae Bottum and tucked a shot under the crossbar to score his fourth goal of the year and put St. Thomas on top 2-0.  From there, the Tommie defense held strong to secure the win.

After the 8-0 shot advantage in the first half, St. Thomas extended that edge in the second, outshooting Concordia 5-1 to total a 13-1 mark for the game.  The Tommies also generated six corner kicks compared to just one for the Cobbers.

In net, sophomore Aidan Hogan collected the win after logging all 90 minutes and facing just one shot.  Ben Glogoza made four saves in the loss.

St. Thomas will be back in action on Saturday when it hosts Hamline for a 3:30 pm start at South Field.
