St. Thomas hit .310 on the night and pushed its win streak to six matches with a 3-0 home victory over St. Catherine. The Tommies won 25-15, 25-15, 25-11 in their 2016 home opener at Schoenecker Arena.
St. Thomas (10-4 overall, 2-0 MIAC) has already surpassed its win total for 2015 -- an uncharacteristic 9-17 finish.
Coach Thanh Pham used 11 players in Wednesday's victory and had balanced results across the statistics sheet, led by:
- Audrey Erickson had seven kills and hit .583 with no errors;
- Taylor Lewis had seven kills, seven digs and two blocks;
- Ellie Meyer had 23 digs;
- Abby Louwagie had 17 assists.
The .310 attack percentage was UST's best since midway through last season, covering 29 matches.
The Tommies play Saturday afternoon at St. Mary's. The Cardinals improved to 14-1 overall and 2-0 in the conference with Wednesday night's 3-0 win over Hamline.
