Brooke Reichart had 18 kills, but third-seed St. Thomas Volleyball lost a five-set decision Thursday night at second-seed Gustavus in the conferemce playoff semifinals. The Gusties won 15-25, 27-29, 25-22, 25-22, 15-10.

Gustavus advances to Saturday night's playoff title match against fourth-seed Bethel, a 3-1 winner at top-seed Augsburg.

St. Thomas (22-8) will await Monday's NCAA Division III playoff announcement to see if it receives an at-large berth. It had a six-match road win streak halted.

UST led 18-14 in the third set but couldn't close it out. The fifth set was tied 9-9 before Gustavus scored six of the last seven points.

The Tommies hit .233 on the match. Whitney Lloyd had 12 kills and 10 blocks; Grace Duffy added 10 kills and five blocks; Ellie Etzell had 11 kills and four blocks; Katharine Mallak had 55 assists; and Ellie Meyer had 26 digs.
