La Crosse tops Volleyball in NCAA round one

No. 15-ranked UW-La Crosse scored a 3-0 win Thursday evening over St. Thomas in the Division III Volleyball Regional tourney in Roseville. The Eagles won 25-18, 25-22, 25-23 to advance to Friday's semifinals.
The Tommies (22-9) had their season end. They led 9-6 in set one before the Eagles surged. They trailed 23-22 in set two and were tied 21-21 in the final set, but were unable to get the winning points in either case.
Whitney Lloyd led UST as she hit .353 with nine kills and six blocks. Taylor Lewis had eight kills and nine digs. Katharine Mallak chipped in 22 assists. Ellie Meyer added 18 digs.
La Crosse (23-5) hit .202 on the match.
