St. Thomas dropped a 3-1 decision to visiting Northwestern-St. Paul in non-conference volleyball on Friday night at Schoenecker Arena. Northwestern won 25-20, 25-23, 24-26, 25-16.

The Tommies (6-7) are 0-2 on their home court this season. The Eagles (9-7) avenged a five-set loss to UST from 13 days earlier and have won five of their last six contests.

Northwestern scored seven consecutive points late in game one en route to a 1-0 set lead. They broke to an 8-2 lead in the fourth set to pull away.

UST trailed 24-23 in the third set but scored the final three points to stay alive.

Whitney Lloyd had 13 kills; Taylor Lewis recorded 11 kills and 24 digs; and Jennifer Wild had 20 digs for the home team.

The Toms are back on their home court Saturday for a 3 p.m. contest against St. Mary's.
