Taylor Young scored 18 points and Maggie Weiers had 16 points and eight rebounds as No. 18-ranked St. Thomas scored a 65-40 women's basketball win Saturday at Carleton.
Katie Stone added 10 points and six assists for the Tommies (15-3, 13-2), who moved alone into second place in the conference, one game behind St. Mary's with seven games remaining. They had a 39-22 rebounding advantage and knocked down seven 3-pointers.
UST closed the first half on a 15-5 run and built a 35-20 halftime lead, then opened the second half on an 8-0 run.
St. Thomas is home Monday night to face Hamline.
