Six firsts for Swim-Dive at opening meet

Tommie Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving opened its 2014-15 season at home on Saturday with the non-team scored St. Thomas Relays.
UST won the mixed 200 medley in 1:43.50 with Alix Glassbrenner, Max Hamilton, Evan Eklund and Tiana Molitor.
The Tommie men took first in the 800 free relay in 7:10.55 with Bailey Biwer, Chris Tri, Griffin Voss and Mike Lanz.
UST placed second in three races: the 300 fly relay in 2:33.81 with Eklund, Matt Lagieski, Mike Sofelt and Lanz; the 400 free relay in 3:15.97 with Schneeman, Biwer, Cole Fuerste and Josh Gerick; an the 1100 Animal relay in 11:34 with Lanz, Walker Matthews and Tri.
The UST women won four events:
- the 300 breaststroke relay in 3:38.65 with Lydia Sather, Annika Wahlquit, Sara O'Brien and Jillian Kolansinski.
- the 300 butterfly relay in 3:02.71 with Courtney Grunewald, Abbie Anderson, Elise Guenther and Mariann Kukielka.
- the 1100 medley animal relay in 12:39.64 with Grunewald, Nicole Herrli and Guenther.
- the 200 free relay in 1:45.98 with Glassbrenner, Beh Wenman, Cassy Panka and Emily Thurow.
The UST women took second in the 800 free relay in 8:22.25 with Guenther, Mackenzie Maki, Molly Peichel and Panka, and the 400 free relay in 3:53.56 with Anderson, Allison Gargulak, Thurow and Herrli.
In men's diving, Andrew Grabowski was second in three-meter (218.40) and third in one-meter (213.30).
St. Thomas will compete Nov. 7 at Carleton in a men's and women's dual meet.
