Conner Nord had 18 points and seven rebounds, while. Zach Riedeman, Taylor Montero and Marcus Alipate each scored 10 points.
The Toms trailed by nine at halftime and fell behind by 14 before trimming that deficit to one early in the second half.
UST posted a 28-13 advantage in bench points, shot 48 percent from the field and made 17 of 21 at the line but was only 4-of-16 from 3-point range.
St. Thomas closes the trip with Saturday's 9 p.m. game (Minnesota time) against Occidental.
