Men's Soccer starts fast, closes out 2-1 win

The Tommies (5-2-2 overall, 2-0 MIAC) scored twice in the first 36 minutes and held on for a 2-1 victory over Augsburg (6-3-1, 3-1) in MIAC men's soccer play Saturday at UST's South Field.
Nick Rapisarda scored his sixth goal of the season in the 16th minute; Alex Bernhardt made it 2-0 with a goal in the 36th minute. Josh Sweeney scored for the Auggies in the 70th minute. UST had a 16-9 edge in shots and a 9-3 edge in corners.
"We represented ourselves very well today in all facets of the match," said UST head coach Jon Lowery. "We need to put this effort in our back pocket and refer to it often."
St. Thomas plays Tuesday at Concordia-Moorhead and again next Saturday at Hamline.
