Volleyball stays in MIAC lead with 3-0 win

No. 7-ranked St. Thomas (14-1 overall, 3-0 MIAC) hit .504 on the match and ran its home court volleyball winning streak to 18 with Saturday's 3-0 victory over St. Ben's (12-4, 2-1).
The Tommies share the conference lead with St. Olaf and Concordia at 3-0, as the Cobbers won in five sets over St. Catherine.
Paige Brimeyer had 13 kills; Kelly Foley had 10 kills and four blocks; Nicole Potts had 10 kills; Jill Greenfield had three aces; and Katie Maher had 25 assists. UST rallied from a 17-16 deficit in game three.
St. Thomas is home Wednesday to play Northwestern (4 p.m.) and UW-Eau Claire (8 p.m.). The Tommies also play Friday at Macalester and are home Sept. 29 against Macalester.
