Volleyball still in MIAC lead with road win

Kelly Foley had 17 kills and hit .419 on the match to lead the No. 7-ranked Tommie volleyball team (13-1 overall, 2-0 MIAC) to Wednesday's 3-0 defeat of Carleton (10-4, 0-2) on the Knights' floor in Northfield. UST won 25-18, 25-23, 25-16.
St. Thomas ran its winning streak to eight and stayed in a share of the MIAC lead. Kaiti Wachter had 19 digs, Sarah Kosbab had three aces and 19 assists, and Katie Maher had 20 assists.
The Toms' home opener is Saturday against St. Ben's (3 p.m.) at Schoenecker Arena.
