Gregory's bat powers Softball in road sweep of Auggies

Emily Gregory and Alyssa Dunrud each had four hits on the day and freshman RHP Kendra Bowe recorded a win and a save as the first-place Tommie softball team scored a 4-2, 4-1 MIAC sweep of Augsburg Saturday in Minneapolis.
St. Thomas (17-5 overall, 4-0 MIAC), which had 18 hits on the doubleheader, ran its conference winning streak to 46 games dating back to April 2010.
USt jumped to a 4-0 lead after two innings in game one. Bowe allowed two runs, seven hits and no walks with seven strikeouts.
Gregory's two-run double in the fifth inning of game two broke a 1-1 tie. Kimmy Hassel's RBI triple in the third inning tied the score 1-1.
Bowe allowed one hit and no runs in two innings of relief. Starter Treya Connell allowed one run and six hits in five-plus innings to take the victory.
St. Thomas plays conference doubleheaders Tuesday at Bethel and Thursday at St. Olaf.
