Duffy's clutch hit lifts Softball past Kean

Genevieve Duffy slugged a two-out RBI single in the top of the seventh inning to snap a 4-4 tie and lift St. Thomas (8-4) to a 5-4 win over Kean (N.J.) in non-conference softball play Monday night in Clermont, Fla.
Freshman Kendra Bowe pitched three innings in relief and worked out of several jams to get the victory.
Jenna Hoffman went 3-for-3 and scored twice and Alyssa Dunrud added two hits to lead a nine-hit attack.
Earlier Monday, UST ralled from a 5-3 deficit to post an 11-5 victory over Hope (Mich.). The Toms ripped 16 hits.
The Tommies play Tuesday against SUNY-Oneonta and Ramapo (N.J.).
