Frosh's first goal lifts first-place Men's Soccer

Freshman Johnny Mulvahill scored his first collegiate points, a goal in the 14th minute off a corner kick, to lead first-place St. Thomas (8-2-2 overall, 5-0 MIAC) to a 1-0 victory over St. Olaf in MIAC men's soccer play at UST's South Field.
Macalister Enderson chipped in the assist for UST, wich has already surpassed its 2011 win total in a 7-6-2 finish. The Toms avenged last season's 6-3 loss to the Oles.
Mitchell Wolff (7-0-1) ll 90 minutes in goal and had two saves. He and his teammates fended off 12 corner-kick attempts. It was UST's fourth shutout win of the season.
The Oles (6-5-1, 2-2-1) had a 12-6 edge in corners and a 15-11 edge in shots but couldn't get the equalizer.
The Tommies are home Sunday to face Carroll (Wis.) in a 3 p.m. start, not the usual 1 p.m. weekend time. UST also has home games this week against Macalester (4 p.m. Wednesday) and St. John's (1 p.m. Saturday).
