The St. Thomas and Carleton women's soccer teams played to a 0-0 tie in two overtimes on Wednesday in St. Paul on a windy, rainy day.
Callan Faulkner had 11 saves in goal for St. Thomas (6-9-2 overall, 4-4-2 MIAC), which recorded its third shutout in a row and eighth of the season.
UST kept alive its dwindling MIAC playoff hopes. The Tommies can make the four-team postseason field via tiebreaker with a defeat of Bethel on Saturday, and two of these three things to happen: a St. Olaf loss to Carleton, a Macalester loss at 11th-place Gustavus, or an Augsburg loss at home to 12th-place St. Mary's.
Carleton (7-5-4, 3-4-3) was outshot 8-2 in the first half but came on to pressure UST for much of the second half and overtime.
