Brittany buries it: OT victory for W. Soccer

Senior Brittany Cochlin scored the game-winning goal with 2:50 left in the second overtime to lead the host Tommies (7-9-2 overall, 5-4-2 MIAC) to a 1-0 win over Bethel in MIAC women's soccer play at UST's South Field.
Senior Callan Faulkner had 11 saves and the Tommies closed the season with four shutouts in a row.
It was the second goal of the season for Cochlin, who took a pass from Hannah Pawlik and made an arc shot over the leaping goalie's reach.
St. Thomas was outshot by Bethel, 21-7, and the Royals had a 10-1 advantage on corners.
UST missed the playoffs as it tied Bethel for sixth place, but it finished above .500 in the conference at 5-4-2. The Tommies were hurt by injuries but finished 3-0-1 in the last two weeks.
