W, 1-0 2 OT
Bethel (W), October 27, 2012

Senior Brittany Cochlin scored the game-winning goal with 2:50 left in the second overtime to lead the host Tommies (7-9-2 overall, 5-4-2 MIAC) to a 1-0 win over Bethel in MIAC women's soccer play at UST's South Field.

Senior Callan Faulkner had 11 saves and the Tommies closed the season with four shutouts in a row.

It was the second goal of the season for Cochlin, who took a pass from Hannah Pawlik and made an arc shot over the leaping goalie's reach.

St. Thomas was outshot by Bethel, 21-7, and the Royals had a 10-1 advantage on corners.

UST missed the playoffs as it tied Bethel for sixth place, but it finished above .500 in the conference at 5-4-2. The Tommies were hurt by injuries but finished 3-0-1 in the last two weeks.
