Tough day for M.Soccer in shutout loss

Four different players scored goals in No. 13-ranked Carleton's 4-0 win over visiting St. Thomas in MIAC men's soccer play Tuesday in Northfield.
The Knights (15-1-1 overall, 7-1-1 MIAC) scored goals in the 41st, 49th, 56th and 63rd minutes.
St. Thomas (10-4-3, 6-2-1) missed two penalty kicks in the game's final 12 minutes.
The Tommies close the regular season Saturday at home against Bethel and will likely claim an MIAC playoff berth with a victory.
If UST wins, Gustavus loses at Macalester, and Carleton loses to rival St. Olaf, there will be a four-way tie for the conference title. Under that scenario, St. John's would make it a five-way tie with wins in its last two games.
"We deserved more from the game, but Carleton did well to capitalize on our mishaps," said UST coach Jom Lowery. "Full credit to them for today and what they've done to date being 15-1-1. We will learn from it and prepare for Saturday with eagerness to secure a playoff spot."Click here to access box score:
