Steph McCartan scored in the 20th minute, assisted by Kelsie Sargent, and Callan Faulkner had eight saves to lead the host Tommies (5-9-1) to a 1-0 victory over regionally ranked UW-Eau Claire (8-7-1) in non-conference women's soccer play Wednesday at UST's South Field.
UST ended a seven-game winless streak (0-6-1) that included five one-goal losses.
St. Thomas built a 9-2 advantage in corner kicks and survived some good challenges by the Blugolds over the final 45 minutes.
UST is home Saturday to play Gustavus (1 p.m.).
