Men's Tennis tops HU, falls to Carleton in playoffs

The Tommie men's tennis team took a season-ending 6-1 loss to Carleton in Saturday's semifinal match in the MIAC Tournament in St. Peter.
Andy Michaels and Grant Bakke won 8-4 at second doubles, but the Knights won 9-7 and 8-6 at the other doubles matches.
The third-seed Tommies (15-4) had four defeats, all to regionally- or nationally-ranked teams.
Carleton (17-5) lost 7-2 to Gustavus in the playoff finals.

The Tommie men's tennis team scored a 9-0 win over Hamline in Friday's first-round match in the MIAC Tournament in St. Peter.
Brendan O'Connell won at first singles and doubles to lead the victory.
The third-seed Tommies (15-3) have won 11 of their last 12 matches. They will play second-seed Carleton in Saturday's 9 a.m. semifinal match. The Knights won the season's first meeting 8-1 back in March after pulling out six close wins.
