Buffalo State converted an early short-handed goal and a third-period power-play goal and edged No. 13-ranked St. Thomas, 3-2, in Saturday's men's hockey game in Adrian, Mich.
UST (5-2-1) outshot Buffalo 31-19 but still had its four-game winnign streak halted. The Tommies' Matt Lipinski had a goal and an assist and Pat Mahoney chipped in with a goal for the Toms.
The Toms play Sunday against No. 6-ranked Adrian, a 2-1 loser to UW-Eau Claire game.
