Late spell costly in Women's Hoops road loss

The Tommie women's basketball team had its win streak end at eight games with Saturday's 73-68 loss at St. Catherine. The Wildcats used a 28-14 game-closing run to hand UST its first MIAC defeat.
Rachel Booth scored 17 points for the Tommies (9-3 overall, 8-1 MIAC).Ali Johnson sank four 3-pointers and closed with 12 points, and Taylor Young scored 11.
Laura Kalbfell had 22 points and Sonja Ellingson added 20 points and nine rebounds forthe Wildcats (4-8, 3-6). SCU outscored the Toms at the foul line 22-11 and had a 40-34 rebounding edge.
St. Thomas is home Monday afternoon for a 3 p.m. game vs. Hamline.
