Women's Hoops still in first place after 61-52 win

Freshman Maggie Weiers had 16 points and eight rebounds as the host Tommies (5-2 overall, 4-0 MIAC) won their fourth game in a row, all over an eight-day stretch, with Wednesday night's MIAC women's basketball victory over the Oles (4-3, 1-3) at UST's Schoenecker Arena.
Carolyn Dienhart added 13 points for the Toms, who have a half-game lead atop the conference standings over 3-0 Concordia-Moorhead. Those teams play Saturday afternoon at UST (1 p.m.).
St. Thomas had a 54-35 rebounding advantage, shot 44% from the floor and used a 33-24 edge in bench scoring. UST led 33-17 at halftime and built a 22-point lead midway through the second half.
Mackenzie Wolter scored 10 points for the Oles, who closed the game on an 11-2 run in the final 3:00.
