Huge road win for Women's Soccer over Cobbers

St. Thomas rallied from an early deficit to post a 2-1 win at Concordia-Moorhead in MIAC women's soccer play Wednesday in Moorhead. The Toms snapped the Cobbers' 17-game conference unbeaten streak.
Freshman Katy Scherer took a pass from Steph McCartan and converted what stood up as the game-winning goal in the 72nd minute. Freshman Jenna Savino scored the tying goal, unassisted, in the 24th minute.
The Cobbers had scored in the eighth minute fro a quick 1-0 lead.
The Tommies (7-4 overall, 4-2 MIAC) have won three in a row. UST keeper Allie Byron had five saves and won her third decision in eight days.
UST has 10 goals in its last seven games -- all by freshmen Scherer, Savino, Mccartan and Jaclyn Glaser.
The Toms play Saturday at St. Olaf.
