Frosh duo lead Women's Soccer to 2-0 win

Freshman Steph McCartan had a goal and an assist to lead the Tommie women's soccer team to a 2-0 home win over Hamline in MIAC play Saturday at UST's South Field.
The Toms (6-4 overall, 3-2 MIAC) won their second ina row.
McCartan set up fellow freshman Katy Scherer for a goal in the 23rd minute. Scherer has now scored a goal in four of her last seven games.
McCartan scored a clinching goal in the 88th minute with a bloop kick over the HU goalie.
Allie Byron had three saves in goal for UST.
St. Thomas plays Wednesday at Concordia-Moorhead.
