Baseball sweeps No. 22 Oshkosh, win streak to 7

Senior Brian Schmitz went 6-for-8 with five RBI on the day and the St. Thomas baseball team pounded 31 hits in Monday's 6-3, 15-8 doubleheader sweep of No. 22-ranked UW-Oshkosh in Winter Haven, Fla.
Roy Larson went 4-for-6 with four RBI on the day for St. Thomas (8-2), which has won seven in a row. Freshman John Means, soph Matt McQuillan and senior Dan Leslie each had three hits and 13 Tommies had at least one hit on the day.
The Tommies trailed the Titans (1-2) 3-0 after the first inning of each game but cranked up the offense. Junior Brandon Stone allowed five hits and three runs in the first inning but shutout Oshkosh the next six innings, he allowed eight hits and one walk with six strikeouts. Junior Matt Schuld allowed six earned runs and four walks in five innings of game two.
The Toms play DePauw on Tuesday in a nine-inning game.
