Men's Hockey gets 2-2 tie at St. Olaf

St. Thomas and No. 15-ranked St. Olaf skated to a 2-2 tie Friday night in MIAC men's hockey play in Northfield. The Oles (10-1-2 MIAC) outshot St. Thomas 30-20 but needed a goal from Bryan Giordana with 6:04 remaining to tie the game.
The Tommies (11-8-3 overall, 8-3-2 MIAC) never trailed. Freshman Cary Wood stayed unbeaten on his college career (7-0-1) as he had 28 saves. UST got goals from Parker Burgess in the second and Sean Bryant in the third.
The teams got soem help in the MIAC playoff race as third-place Gustavus and fourth-place Hamline both lost.
The teams play again Saturday night in Mendota Heights (7 p.m.).
