Volleyball gets 3-0 win over Macalester

Kyley Crotty had 13 kills and 13 digs and Emily Foster had 36 assists to lead No. 10-ranked St. Thomas (16-4 overall, 5-0 MIAC) to a three-set win over Macalester (6-10, 0-4) in MIAC play Wednesday at CU's Gangeloff Center.
The Tommies have won 35 consecutive matches against conference opponents. They kept a half-game lead over 4-0 St. Ben's and a one-game lead over 4-1 St. Olaf.
For the Scots, Danielle Dweck had 24 assists, Kiera Coulter had 20 digs, and Majra Mucic had six kills and seven digs.
For UST, Kaitlin Wachter had 19 digs, Jill Osborne added eight kills and three blocks, Katie Bonine had eight kills and eight digs, and Ashley Maher had three aces. UST hit .203.
The Scots pulled within 20-16 in the first set, but Toms used a 5-1 surge to close out the set. Mac was within 21-19 in set two but the Toms scored the final four points. In the third set, UST used a 6-0 run to build a 13-6 lead and the Scots never got closer than four thereafter.
UST plays at Hamline on Friday ngiht.
