Men's Soccer gets 7-0 win, locks up playoff spot

St. Thomas got goals from six different players in Saturday's 7-0 men's soccer victory over St. Mary's. With the victory and Gustavus' win today, Coach Aaron Macke's Tommies secured a playoff berth for the third year in a row.
If St. Olaf loses or ties on Sunday vs. Carleton, the Toms will be the third seed and play Wednesday at Macalester. If the Oles win, the Toms will be the fourth seed and play at Carleton in the playoff semifinals.
If Carleton wins or ties on Sunday, St. Thomas will secure top-three team finishes in all eight fall sports in the conference.
Senior Sean Kennedy scored two goals and Mike Hutton had a goal and two assists. Carlso Castelan was in goal for his 12th shutout over the last two seasons for UST (10-6-2 overall, 6-3-1 MIAC).
