Senior Maria Bye hit her 32nd and 33rd career home runs and No. 5-ranked St. Thomas broke its own record for consecutive wins vs. conference foes with Thursday's 9-0, 12-2 softball sweep of visiting Concordia-Moorhead. Both games were halted after five innings.

The Tommies (29-3 overall, 14-0 MIAC) have won 46 in a row vs. conference opponents over parts of the last three seasons. UST held the previous record with 44 victories in a row from 2003-2005. St. Thomas also extended its home diamond win streak to 33.

Three Tommie pitchers combined on a no-hitter in game one. Marta Radcliffe got the win as she retired all 11 batters she faced, 10 by strikeout.

In game two, Bye retired nine of the 10 batters she faced over three innings, with six strikeouts and one walk. The Cobbers (5-21, 2-10) averted a game-two shutout and a second no-hitter in the fifth inning with Laura Johnson's solo homer and Nicole Diekman's RBI single.

Bye was 4-for-5 at the plate on the day as St. Thomas had 25 hits and 21 runs in eight at-bats. Alison Wright hit safely in each game to run her hitting streak to 14 games. Wright has reached base in 30 consecutive games.

St. Thomas plays Saturday at Carleton as it closes in on securing one of four MIAC playoff spots.
