Men's Hockey posts 5-1 win at St. Mary's

Nick Pernula and Rob Johnson each scored two goals as the St. Thomas men's hockey team scored a 5-1 road win at St. Mary's in Friday night's MIAC game in Winona.
Tyler Chestnut stopped 19 of 20 shots for the Tommies (15-5-2 overall, 9-3-1 MIAC), who broke to a 3-0 lead in the first 15:00. Nate Ryan scored a goal and Andrew Panchenko added three assists.
UST kept pace atop the MIAC standings with Bethel, a 4-3 winner over St. Olaf. Bethel has 21 points with one MIAC game to play, while St. Thomas has 19 points with three conference games remaining and Hamline has 18 points with three games left.
The teams play Saturday night at 7:00 on UST's home ice in Mendota Heights.
