Volleyball gets 16th win in row, 3-0 vs. CSC

Senior Katie McCaffrey hit .500 with 11 kills and three blocks to lead No. 6-ranked St. Thomas to a three-set home win over St. Catherine in MIAC volleyball play Saturday at UST's Schoenecker Arena. UST won 25-14, 25-16, 25-11.
The Tommies (17-1 overall, 5-0 MIAC), who hit .355, moved back into a share of the conference lead with St. Ben's. UST has won 16 in a row this season and has won 19 consecutive matches vs. MIAC opponents.
McCaffrey now has 1,038 career kills. Senior Katie Kremer had three aces and 11 digs and now has 2,231 on her career in 406 games. Kremer needs 47 digs to become the MIAC career leader. The Tommie seniors have helped UST post a 103-20 record in their era.
Kyley Crotty had 17 digs and six kills; Emily Foster had 39 assists and four blocks; Molly Staton had nine digs; Carlie Waibel had seven kills.
St. Thomas plays Wednesday at Bethel and will play four matches as the host school in the Oct. 10-11 MInnesota-Iowa Border Battle at Schoenecker Arena.
