The St. Thomas women's soccer team played No. 23-ranked UW-Eau Claire to a 0-0 tie in two overtimes Sunday on a cold, windy, wet day at UST's South campus field. St. Thomas (12-0-4) had a seven-game winning streak halted but extended its unbeaten streak to 17 dating back to last season.
The Tommies had a 9-5 edge in corner kicks but the Blugolds (15-1-3) had a 6-3 advantage in shots on goal. Despite the cold and slippery field, bothj teams piushed the pace and had decent scoring chances.
Amanda Domeier stopped six shots in goal for the Tommies, while Allie Rivard had three saves for the Blugolds.
The Tommies play Wednesday at St. Olaf and finish the regular season next Saturday at home against Gustavus. They need one win or two ties to secure the No. 1 seed for the MIAC playoffs and at least a share of the conference title.
