St. John's scored with 17 seconds left in regulation to cap a three-goal comeback and claim a 4-3 win over No. 4-ranked St. Thomas in MIAC men's hockey play Saturday afternoon in St. Cloud.
The loss ended UST's 14-game MIAC regular-season win streak. St. Thomas (13-3-1 overall, 5-1 MIAC) is now tied for the conference lead with Hamline.
Senior Nate Ryan had his third two-goal game in eight days to help push the Toms to a 3-1 lead after two periods. But UST was blanked over the last 37 minutes of the game.
St. Thomas plays Gustavus next Friday at home and next Saturday in St. Peter. The Gusties (5-3 MIAC) won 5-3 Saturday to salvage a split with Bethel.
