Volleyball tops Cobs, pushes win streak to 12

Katie McCaffrey and Kyley Crotty each had 19 kills to lead No. 6-ranked St. Thomas to a four-game volleyball victory over visiting Concordia-Moorhead Wednesday night at UST's Schoenecker Arena in St. Paul. The Tommies topped the No. 11-ranked Cobbers 30-18, 24-30, 30-28, 30-17.
St. Thomas (12-2 overall, 2-0 MIAC) ran its winning streak to 12 matches. The Toms pulled out a close game three by scoring the final two points. In game four, UST ran off eight consecutive points to take a 24-14 lead.
Concordia (6-4, 1-1) had a 14-game MIAC win streak halted. The Cobbers broke to a 19-10 lead in game two and held off the Toms to even the match. Michelle Honek had 19 kills, Alyssa Dahl had 41 assists and Anna Tinkham had 30 digs for the Cobbers.
For UST, Kristin Storrs had 14 kills, Emily Foster had 55 assists, and Aly McConnell added 32 digs.
St. Thomas plays unbeaten and No. 25-ranked Carleton at home Saturday (3 p.m.).
