Senior Carrie Embree scored a career-best 20 points and added nine rebounds to lead St. Thomas to a 61-56 win over host St. Olaf in MIAC women's basketball play Saturday in Northfield.

The Tommies (4-2 overall, 3-1 MIAC) used an 18-7 run to close the first half with a 32-27 advantage. They pushed the lead to 13 points in the second half. After the Oles pulled within 59-56 in the final minute, Chelsea Wirtz sank two free throws with 21 seconds left to help secure the victory.

The Tommies play at Simpson (Iowa) next Saturday before taking three weeks off for final exams and the holiday break.
